Oh, The Alberta Arts District!
The artist community here is so rich. This little slice of Portland was restored by craftsman. Take a look around, the old buildings are covered with murals, rich in history. And talking about pie, the food is made with Portland’s love. Some of the best cuisines are found in this humble place.
Buildings and businesses closed down in the 1970s. It was a rough time. In the 1990s much of the district was refreshed, mostly with paint. The arts district is known for the murals and public statues. Now Alberta Street is lined with galleries, artisan shops, and boutiques. Every month is Last Thursday art walk and street fair.
Alberta Rose Theater was abandoned for about twenty years and is currently celebrated as a vintage theater featuring a variety of live bands and performances.
